🔥How to use AI tools to automate HR processes
Sultan Saidov, co-founder and president of Beamery, a global human capital management SaaS firm, believes that AI will change the HR industry. He thinks companies should focus on treating people like they treat their customers, and use AI to create more personalized experiences. Imagine a world where you're treated like royalty throughout the recruitment process!
AI can also help fix HR issues such as disengagement, low productivity, retention, and return-to-office mandates. Sameer Penakalapati, CEO at Ceipal, thinks that incorporating AI at the beginning of the employee journey can help at every stage of the candidate experience, from screening resumes to scheduling interviews and onboarding. And chatbots can really speed up the process, so recruiters can focus on what's important - getting to know the candidate and finding the best fit for the company.
With AI and ChatGPT technology, a candidate can apply for a job and be instantly screened for a position. The first conversation between a candidate and recruiter can be focused on personality and fit with a company’s culture. It's all about creating a more personal experience for candidates, and AI is the key to making that happen.
All that being said, we prepared a step-by-step plan how to introduce AI into your HR process.

Story time
🤓We hope AI means we will be able to work less. But will we?
Artificial intelligence has been hailed as a productivity booster, with some predicting that it could increase the productivity of the average knowledge worker by nearly 140% in the next eight years. But what if those gains don't translate into benefits for society? Many worry that AI will lead to widespread job displacement, with some estimates predicting that up to 47% of jobs in the US could be automated in the next two decades.
However, the history of technological revolutions suggests that productivity gains don't necessarily translate into societal benefits. For example, household appliances that were supposed to save time, like dishwashers and washing machines, ended up simply raising expectations around cleanliness and increasing the time spent on housework. Similarly, personal computers and smartphones were supposed to make us more productive, but instead they have made it possible to work from anywhere and at any time, blurring the lines between work and personal life.
Tech writer Paris Marx argues that the promises of AI as a productivity booster fail to paint an accurate picture of how it will transform the world around us, and that the true cost of these supposed benefits remains to be seen. As AI continues to evolve, it's important to consider not just its potential for productivity gains, but also its impact on society as a whole.
Help ChatGPT understand your business better.
Instead of thinking, what information you should provide for the AI, you can tell him to ask questions in order to understand your company better.
Prompt: In a minute I will ask you to write some copies for my business. It will include blog posts, social media posts, sales emails, and others. Before we begin, I want you to fully understand my business and customers.
Ask me at least 20 questions about my business, customers, audience, and anything else you might need in order to complete the tasks as best as you can.

💼 7800 IBM employees might lose their jobs to AI
IBM is taking a break from hiring for certain roles that they think could be replaced with artificial intelligence in the near future. Back-office jobs like HR might be put on hold or slowed down, which could mean bad news for the 26,000 people employed in those positions. Arvind Krishna, the CEO of IBM, thinks that up to 30% of these roles could be automated over the next five years, potentially resulting in around 7,800 people losing their jobs. Ouch!
That was followed after Dropbox's move to lay off 500 employees and replace them with AI.
Krishna says that AI will probably take over boring tasks like providing employment verification letters. However, some HR functions like evaluating workforce composition and productivity might still need humans for at least the next ten years. Despite these cuts, IBM is still hiring for software development and customer-facing roles, and they’ve already added about 7,000 employees in the first quarter of 2023.
Krishna has been steering IBM towards newer tech like hybrid cloud, and away from old-school stuff. They’re even thinking of selling their weather unit! They’ve already cut some jobs and expenses, which has helped them make more profit. They hope to save even more money with new efficiency measures that should bring in about $2 billion annually by 2024. Despite concerns about the economy getting worse, Bloomberg Intelligence's Anurag Rana thinks that IBM’s strong software, like Red Hat, will help them keep growing.
